Match report BATSMAN TURNER OVERDRIVE

Alex Turner returned from Spain to claim the Man of the Match with a fantastic innings of 104 and see Little Hallingbury to their second league win of the season. Tom Phipps made 25 and an aggressive 67 not out from Waheed Iqbal saw Hallingbury to 227 from 5 after winning the toss and electing to bat. Williams H was the pick of the Stortford bowlers, finishing with 4-46 from 10.

Two early wickets by Waheed put Hallingbury in control of the match early on. Hore taking three catches behind the stumps at crucial points.
Behind the run rate Stortford were helped by Powell 42 not out, Mumford 30 qand Wilkinson 48. Mumford was bowled by James Budd around his legs just as he was getting into his stride. James' father Nick then removed the dangerous Wilkinson, with 14 year old Alex Bharadwaj taking a sharp two-handed catch above his head at mid-wicket to end any hopes of a Stortford victory. The wickets were shared equally between the bowlers, but the day belonged to Alex Turner.
