It’s been a terrific season for the club and we are going to celebrate with an end of season match and BBQ on Saturday 26th September. Hopefully we can get 22 players and put on a good game. Please mark your availability on the LHCC website if you can play in this interclub game open to all.
The match fee including BBQ and food will be a level £15 for players , and BBQ only attendees will be asked for a £7 contribution. The event will have a a fund raising element for the club for future inevitable expenditure.
Refreshments will be available post match and during the awards.
At the conclusion of the match, we will announce our 2026 junior and senior award winners.
Preceding this, with hopefully many of you present, we shall be holding an EGM [ Extraordinary General Meeting ] at the club at 11.30 amd which is the opportunity to discuss more formally how we approach playing cricket next season, and regarding the proposal to start a second XI in the H&E Border League on Saturdays.
This would see us asking players to support this extra league team on Saturdays cricket and, initially, may impact matches on a Sunday.
There has been a good informal debate so far amongst members , and there is an alternative argument for maintaining the current position.

As LHCCC want to find a way to ensure Club members get the cricket they are looking for next season and this is potentially a significant change for the club, we will hold an EGM before the match starts at 11.30am. This will give everyone a chance to hear the argument from both sides and then vote on a way forward. Only club members (life members and those paying 2026 membership, via their parent or guardian ) will be eligible to vote.
