Match report On a blazing hot day with a side packed full of young players with the odd very experienced player LHCC won a toss (well done Nick); and on a boiling hot day with a flat belting wicket invited the opposition to bat

The opening bowlers radars went astray and Stansted raced away, to be contained later by the youth of Hallingbury with Zac bowling a tight spell turning the ball and Will Goold also bowling well; both were rewarded with wickets. Stansted advanced to the giddy heights of 247 for 3

Afetr a very good tea a solid start by Turner and Rumble saw us advance to 39 before Rumble departed to an agricultural shot soon followed by Sunny given out by his father. Then with another recognised batsman going soon after (Alex Turner) LHCC were 45 for 3 with the young players excited about definite prospects of everyone batting today.
However Matthews and Thorne had other ideas and formed a partnership of 92 with Zac finally departing for a well made 33, Thorne who by this stage looked in need of oxygen now dealt in boundaries and with sensible support from Raj who apart from a well hit 6 curbed his attacking game saw Hallingbury through to a well earned draw (Thorne 70 not out) ending 176 for 4

The younger players could not believe they did not bat but their time will come as a well organised collapse usually happens during the course of a season
