Match report On a sunny afternoon Thorley won the toss and asked us to bat first. With the usual quick singles from Turner (88) and loud calling from Goold (39) they managed to put on 77 for the first wicket. Until Goold was caught behind of Griggs (1-45). Turner did not have much support as the middle order crumbled with only Williams (18*) and Fensom (16) making double figures. On a great wicket for batting hallingbury were bowled out for 192 with only 42 overs bowled.
The Thorley reply began steadily until Astwood once again found the stumps. Wickets fell at regular intervals, but Thorley were only ever one partnership away from threatening the Hallingbury total. The reliable Malik (5-41) brought some calm and thanks to an amazing catch by Williams, helped himself to a 5 wicket haul. Once again, Hallingbury’s fielding was strong, with several good catches taken in the outfield. Thorley were still pushing for victory with the 8th and 9th wicket down. However victory was secured when Malik managed to turn a Fensom dropped catch into a run out. Hallingbury remain top of the table with 5 wins out of 5.
