Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 60 Runs

Match report On the hottest day of the year so far EHC Won the toss and asked LHCC to bowl first. LHCC desperately didn't want to field first in the sweltering heat, but they got an early wicket via a leg side ball from Bharambe(1-27). Watt(1-39) also picked up a wicket off his own bowling as well as that a one handed grab. Think back to Andrew Strass at Trent Bridge in the summer of 2005. It was like that catch. Unfortunately, Sam wasn't fielding in the slip cordon where several catches were dropped The youngsters did their bit by doing some brilliant fielding to keep the score down to a gettable total of 207. The LHCC reply started well with Rumble(20) and Turner(57) explosively hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. But then for the first time this season LHCC had a "Batting collapse". When Goold (12) and Platt(24*)were together. LHCC thought that they had hope. But Crossly(5-25) ripped through the batting order and in the end LHCC ran out of steam and partnerships and slumped to their second defeat of the season.
