Match report Hallingbury lost the toss and were inserted under fairly cloudy skies. Turner and Goold put in a solid shift scoring 85 before Goold top edged a pull to square leg. Alex batted really well for his 50 and seemed well set before he was surprisingly bowled by Hyde. Sudip shepherded the middle overs and ensured we got a competitive total with his third 50 of the season. He was well supported by Ishfaq, Stuart Dobson and Luke.
A total of 232 was always going to be a challenge, but we were missing a couple of bowlers and Theydon were always in the hunt. Rich bowled well at the start, but it was Ish taking four economic wickets, who kept Theydon in check. Dylan took his routine exceptional catch and Gareth kept beautifully. Not only did he grab 2 clinical stumping, but by donning the helmet and standing up to the medium pacers, he ensured all the Theydon batsmen were under pressure.
With 1 wicket left, Theydon were still 40 runs short, but batting sensibly, Martin and Knight chipped away at the deficit. With one over left, 13 were needed. Stuart Dobson stepped up to the plate and held his nerve to concede only 6.
Man of the match, Ish for a match winning spell and some valuable runs.
