Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Won By 48 Runs

Match report On a bright and sunny day we were hoping to bounce back from last weekends defeat at the hands of Bishop Stortford. We did the first thing right and we won the toss and we batted first. We went through the first 10 overs without losing a wicket that was until Goold(11) was caught. All the middle order contributed valuable runs, however a big stand of 52 important runs between Fensom(26) and Kalyankar(38)That helped us get to a respectable score of 199 from our allotted overs.

A Hockerill win would take us to second in the table and so they a knew a good start would be key in order to chase our total down. Fensom and Astwood were their usual accurate selves. It looked like at one point we were going to slip to back to back defeats. But when Malik came on the innings really changed. Hockerill started to worry as the run-rate increased. Whilst Ishfaq tied up one end Sudip took regular wickets at the other end as we built more and more pressure. In the end Hallingbury won by a conferrable margin of nearly 50 runs.
