Match report With the sun shining on a very hot day in Essex, LHCC were hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at home. We batted first after losing the toss. Turner tried to give himself some room on the off side and was caught in the slips. But Malik and Goold stayed together and laid a solid foundation putting on a partnership of 98 for the second wicket. With some big hitting from Rumble (13), Dobson (17), Rowley (12*) and Astwood (21*) we got to a good solid total of 253 from our 45 overs.
Sawbrigworth set about their total. With a very quick outfield to deal with we had to be on top of our fielding and we did just that. Gosling (48) top scored for Sawbrighworth but it was Ishfaq who spun us to victory taking his best ever figures (6-21). Eventually Sawbrighworth ran out of partnerships and steam and we won comfortably by 133 runs.

MOTM: Ishfaq for his best ever figures (6-21) and for his superb batting. Also special mention to Luke for his wicket keeping no byes and two catches.
