Match report On a cloudy and unexpectedly cold day Hallingbury won the toss and with a strong batting line up decided to bat. Turner and Rumble started off well with
a rapid 38 run opening partnership before Turner was out LBW. Tom Phipps, despite a heavy Saturday spent watching rugby then held the innings together with a well made 81 before being run out by his skipper. Wickets tumbled but a 25 from Thorne together with another rapid not out innings from Williams saw Hallingbury to 200 for 7 at tea
North Weald never recovered from losing early wickets and decided to defend. However excellent bowling performances from the younger members of the team Sam Watt 4-30 and Luke Stedman 3-22 nearly saw Hallingbury to victory but North Weald dug in to finish 9 wickets down.
