Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Won By 7 Runs

Match report With the Saturday team league defeat in the back of everyone’s mind, Stocking Pelham won the toss and put LHCC in to bat in a 30 over game. Turner (67) and Rumble (95) started in a positive manner hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. They got a partnership of 135 for the first wicket. They both passed fifty. Turner eventually fell for a good knock of 67, but Rumble stayed at the wicket and passed his highest score of the season falling agonisingly short of a century. We posted a challenging target of 183 from our allotted over’s.

Stocking Pelham started well with A.Foster racing to a quick fifty but we continued to fight taking wickets at regular intervals thanks to Featherstone (3-23) and Thorne (0-19). As the pressure mounted the run-rate climbed and it went down to the last over and Luke was given the ball. We wanted to protect the boundary ropes as much as possible. Stocking threw everything at us but we won a very close game. This was only our seconded win of the season. A great game played in a great spirit.
