Match report With the late arrival of the opposition a 30 over game was decided upon and Stocking Pelham batted first.
The openers made steady progress until the pace of a hung over Rumble induced a nick,a further 2 wickets followed from radar junior which brought the Stocking Pelham overseas signing to the crease. After Dave Jones took 2 quick wickets, following an attempted caught & bowled that nearly took his hand off, a good partnership followed until Thorn bowled some sort of arm ball that dislodged the bails. The overseas signing continued to hit boundaries on a short legside boundary(fortunately the farmers field had been harvested) until the reintroduction of a pacy Rumble saw him off. Final score a challenging (certainly for a Sunday) 188 after 30 overs
Hallingbury opened with the comedy due of Turner & Rumble who proceeded to hit boundaries and also sometimes run between wickets. The score raced to 104 after 10 overs when Turner was bowled attempted a massive slog off Platt junior who then removed the top over, surely Hallingbury would not blow it now; however we done our best to drag it out with further wickets falling and the run rate going in a backward direction, however despite still recovering from having to run a three, the winning runs were knocked off in the 29th over by the skipper to record a welcome victory for the Sunday side!
