Match report In the first match of Thaxted T20 Day we played our hosts. After losing Stewart early for 8, Alex enjoyed his new bat, hitting four sixes and one four in a lusty 38. After he was bowled by Gent, Amit and Tom set about the bowling with gusto, although to be fair Tom struggled to snaffle much of the strike. Still he showed yet again that he is on of the exquisite timers of ball in his 40 before he was run out off the penultiamte ball for 40 in a partnership of 168. Amit played extremely well and showed no mercy whatsover to the Thaxted bowlers (including his unchivalrous decimation of young Sophie who bowled extremely well throughout the onslaught) as he made is way to an unbeaten 116.

Facing a daunting total of 219 to win Thaxted faced more than an uphill struggle. Two wickets a piece for Nick, Stuart Dobson and Phil Rowley (Yes that Phil Rowley, who, incidentally, fielded fantastically) kept the Thaxted run chase before they were eventually all out fo 101.
