Match report Berries started their first league campaign in Division 3 in 9 years with a 33 run win over Little Munden.

Batting first Hallingbury amassed 294 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Stewart and Amit gave us a solid start before Amit fell 4 runs shy of his 50. Stewart made a stately 38 and Tom Phipps hit a 50 full of cultured shots including one six driven sumptuously over extra cover. After a brief lull in the middle order, Dave Wain rolled back the years hitting 62 off of 42 balls and a quickfire 17 from Tom Allen saw us to a good total.

Little Munden had a plethora of strong hitters in their batting line up with Murtaza hitting 56 after being dropped several times. Shawal at number three threatened to pull off an improbable win with an innings of 127 including 12 sixes and 5 fours. Luke's figures belied how well he bowled, especially the maiden he bowled at the top scorer in his second spell. Stuart Dobson 3-39 bowled with control and it was left to Jack Culpin remove the centurion in his last over to secure a 33 run win.
