Match report With the LHCC pitch cover into early action at 1.15 pm to protect against a predicted rain shower, the game was delayed 30 minutes and reduced to 40 overs. A chipper Willingale won the toss and put Hallingbury in to bat.
Runs flowed for the Kalyankars again, supported by Malik and Dobson who put on an impressive run rate. With few overs left the middle order had little time to establish when confronted by the returning Torble and Airey. With a hefty 35 extras, the berries were confident 248 for 7 was as decent as the well earnt tea.
Weight of runs was what ultimately did for Willingale. A brisk and classy first session with a long stand building at tea between Stammers and Welshman always left the match in balance. However Nalik was more assured stifling the runs , allowing Sudip to invite risk as the run rate weighed heavier and heavier on the visitors chase. Sudip finished with a five-for 40 supported by quality fielding from all quartwers this week, as Hallingbury trotted out good winners to get back to winning ways.
