Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 25 Runs

Match report Summer finally arrived at Gaston Green as we welcomed East Ham Corinthians. EHC batted first in glorious sunshine. The EHC operners started well with Ahmes(35) and Ankit(68) hitting the ball to all part and making us pay for it in the sweltering heat. But Jones(1-25) held up one end and bowled nice and tightly, with support from Goold(2-19) and Thorne(4- 19) bowling well. In doing this we managed to dry up the run-rate and also the runs. EHC finished on 147-8 from their alloted time.

We didn't get off to the best of starts with Wharton getting bowled by a ball that kept really low. Rowley and Thorne came together and formed a good partnership, but Thorne got out at a crucial time as we lost wickets at the wrong time. Canty played well for a quick fire 22 and also a special mention to Josh and Ben on debut scoreing 8 and 1 respectively. As time ticked by there was only going to one outcome. The lower order tried there hardest to get that all important draw but we fell 1 over short as EHC won by 25 runs.
