Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Won By 5 Wickets

Match report On a warm and muggy day, with thunder threatening, we visited North Weald. We fielded first and Jack Culpin and Dave Jones started well. Most notably Dave who bowled nice and tightly keeping the operning two batsmen guessing. He had good support from Nick Thorne (1-16) and Nabeel Somani (2-25) who bowled well towards the back end of the innings. V Curren (58) helped get North Weald to a gettable score of 147 from their allotted time.

After a great tea involving chicken, potato wedges, pizza and a lot of cake we set about our chase. We didn't get off to the best of starts losing Watt in the third over of the innings chipping a ball straight back to the bowler. But Culpin and Raj set to work putting on a usefull partnership, until Raj got out playing one big shot too many. Dylan and young Luke Wharton got out cheaply. Jack however pressed on and got to us within 1 run of victory when he was out caught. It was then left to Andy to come in and hit the winning runs and to get our second Sunday victory of the season.
