Match report As the second home game approached we faced a very strong HBO side. With a very close boundary on the leg side, we knew that anything short would get hit to that boundary. We were asked to field first on a pitch with occasional bounce. White (0-12) and Watt started well bowling nice and tightly in the opening few overs. It took us until the 13th over to pick up our first wicket Thorne(1-50) pinning S.Munday(24) in front with the score on 74. R.Adam made use of our short pitched bowling and hit 97. We managed to claim wickets at regular intervals thanks to good fielding and in doing this Karim picked up his first 5 wicket hall for the club (5-18). HBO were bowled out for a challenging score of 231.

We didn’t get off to the best of the starts in the reply with Wharton inside edging a delivery onto his stumps to a ball which kept very low. Fresh from bowling spell Karim along with Thorne managed to get to the score to 66 before we had a mini Hallingbury collapse. It was left to Malcom(7*) and Tom LG(1*) to bat out for the draw.
