Radwinter v Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Sunday Team on Sun 30 Jun 2019 at 14.00
Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 61 Runs

Match report On a hot Sunday afternoon we travelled to Radwinter, a new fixture this year. On a picturesque ground, we lost the toss and were asked to bowl. Dropped catches and some extremely poor umpiring would prove costly for Hallingbury.
There was an early breakthrough thanks to a sharp one-handed grab by Canty off the bowling of Watt, removing Smart for 13. At the other end, Luke Stedman removed their other opening batsman, Watt taking a sharp catch at mid off. There was then a good shout for a catch behind off of the younger Stedman, the umpire giving it not out- especially irritating when the batsman turns around to the slips afterwards and admits he hit it. After the first drinks break, Alex Dixson-Smith produced a gem of a yorker to remove Lovelady for 4. Will Goold then joined the attack and proceeded to get 2 wickets in 2 balls (SCENES!). After a fast spell from Alex, Nick Thorne came on and should have had a wicket in his first over, a clear stumping so far out that even the man at backward square could see it. Unbelievably this was adjudged not out by the umpire. Goold finished his spell and was replaced by Nabeel, who soon struck to remove Ward for 21. The youngster then struck again, Alex taking a good catch to remove Ducci for a duck. At the other end Nick finally dismissed the dangerous Copper for 66, Alex taking an excellent catch in the deep. The Radwinter innings was done and dusted when Liddell chipped the ball straight to Thorne off of the bowling of Nabeel without score. Nabeel finishing with figures of 4-16 after the best spell of bowling he has produced in his short cricketing career so far.

Following a good bowling effort from the away team, Karim and Phil Rowley walked out to begin the Hallingbury innings and the pair immediately looked to play their shots before Karim was bowled for 7. At the other end Phil began to build his innings, hitting a couple of boundaries that even one of the fielders labelled "textbook", however at the other end Canty was less fortunate when he mistimed a pull shot off of Liddell, the number 3 back in the pavillion for just 2. Soon after Sam perished without score and Hallingbury were struggling. Phil then fell to a delivery that pretty much turned at right angles for 22. Soon after that Nick was back in the sheds for 11 which left us in serious trouble. What followed was another calamitous collapse, resulting in Hallingbury falling to 77 all out. Nabeel and Martin did well to hang around for a while amidst incessant chat from the home side.
