Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 62 Runs

Match report For the first League game of the season we welcomed Stansted to Gaston Green. With hail and rain preventing a full 45 over game we reduced it to 33 overs a side. We won the toss and fielded first. With Hallingbury missing a number of key players we had to chop and change our bowling attack. Dobson bowled well to keep the run down in the opening overs. With a wet outfield it made run hard for Stansted to score all of their runs. However, with all of the stop and start rain delays we managed to keep our heads up, and managed to reduce the scoring with good fielding and tight bowling from S.Kayanker(1-43) and Goold (0-15) to get the score down to 205 from 33 overs.

Our chase got off to a quick start with both Amits setting off like an express train racing to 43-0 within the first 10 overs. However, some good bowling from Pronk (5-28) left us with too much to do. Even some resistance from Dobson(30) and Williams (13*) wasn't enough as Stansted won by 62 runs. Next weekend we are away at Thaxted.
