Farnham v Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Saturday Team on Sat 22 Jun 2019 at 1.30pm
Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 6 Wickets

Match report As we approached the halfway point of the season, Hallingbury were looking to recover from last week’s loss to Potter Street against a Farnham side that had struggled for points this summer. Having lost the toss, stand in skipper Goold was invited to bat on a surface that could best be described as bowler friendly.
Both Amit’s got us off to a decent start, Amit Singh particularly timing the ball nicely in the early exchanges. At 71-0 it looked like a decent toss to have lost, however the departure of Amit Singh sparked a remarkable decline. Alex Turner fell to a brilliant caught and bowled by Griggs and Jay Fensom followed next over trying to sweep the spinner before he had assessed the pace of the wicked. Dave Wain escaped his customary run out before chipping the ball to short cover.
Meanwhile Amit Kalyanker was batting serenely at the other end. Farnham seemed to have no answer to his straight drives and square cuts. In came Stuart Dobson to steady the ship. He took a huge stride down the wicket to knock leg spinner Radley off his line and can consider himself unfortunate to be given out LBW by Alex Turner. Williams went first ball which brought in Goold at number 8. Cattrell was turning the ball prodigiously, however when Amit looked to glance the ball down the leg side, there was a big appeal. Up went the finger and Amit was left to consider how unfortunate he had been to be given out LBW by Alex Turner. Goold tried to shepherd the tail and managed to strike a few defiant boundaries, however as he tried to keep the strike by nudging the ball down the leg side, fortune was not on his side and he was given out LBW by Alex Turner.
With only 123 to chase for victory, we needed early wickets. Jay bowled quickly and picked up Miller from a fine diving catch by Canty. Next, he nicked off skipper Prowse to a lovely catch from Williams. Dobson replaced Fensom and was making the ball talk, however we simply did not have enough runs to apply any pressure. T Cattrell finished on 40 not out and Farnham wrapped the match up with 6 wickets to spare.
