Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 72 Runs

Match report On a warm and pleasant afternoon we travelled to Thorley looking for our first win of this reduced season. We were sent into the field and Mark Mcraith and Stu Dobson started well with the ball reducing the runs the opening overs. A good partnership was formed with the bat by M.Durey(107*) who batted all the way through the innings. Some good tight bowling in the middle overs from Will Goold(0-48) Ishfaq(0-33) and Sudip(1-55) helped keep the run rate down but some hard hitting at the end from B.Copper(34*) got Thorley to a competitive total of 259 from 35 overs.

We needed a good start with the bat but unfortunately Amit S was run out in the 3rd over. Ollie came in next and along with Amit K he put on a solid partnership. At the halfway point it looked like it could be anybody’s game but when Amit K fell we lost wickets at regular intervals mainly thanks to (Ryder 4-50) and ended up losing the game by 72 runs.
