Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 5 Wickets

Match report With Little Hadham cancelling their fixture; for the second week in a row we played an inter club game. This time it was the captain and the vice-captain of the Sunday team this season Raj and Tom Wharton to pick the teams. Team Tom batted first and got off to a good start, getting to 21 before Keith Behagg took an absolute stunner of a catch in the slips to dismiss the captain. Some good runs down the order from Sam Watt(21), Maria Stedman(11) and Samson (18*) and some hitting down the order from Luke Stedman(10*) helped their team to a score of 104 from their 32 overs.

With a small total to defend, the Raj Xl set about chasing it down. They didn’t get off to the best of starts with W Goold (1-13) taking an early wicket. But some good hitting from Nabeel (19) laid the foundation for a successful chase. When Maria Stedman picked up the wicket of Raj, it looked like it could be anybody’s game. But Freddie Dutton(30*) and Keith Behagg(4*) took the Raj Xl to victory. A good game played in fine spirit with youngsters from both sides batting and bowling well. Some stars of the future to look out for.
