Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 55 Runs

Match report The bank holiday weekend saw Hallingbury entertain East Ham Corinthians. The visitors would bat first and came out of the blocks firing until the beginning of what would prove to be a Joe Ash special. He claimed 3 quick wickets to leave East Ham in a spot of bother. With Matt having also then bowled a good spell, there was another wicket for the caught Maria bowled Featherstone combination, followed by a long spell by Maria that would also bring her a wicket. When Luke Wharton came on there were SCENES as Goold eventually clung on to a high catch at 45. Speaking of high catches, Ash would then snaffle an excellent one off of the bowling of the other Luke before returning to bowl at the other end himself. Joe would claim 2 more wickets in no time, to secure his maiden 5 wicket haul for Hallingbury. A run out off the final ball of the innings saw East Ham to 175 all out by tea. A tough total.

Tight bowling from the get-go made life difficult for Hallingbury to get going, with most perishing in search of quick runs. There was a quick 28 from Luke who would hit 2 enormous sixes during his innings, and a new personal best score for Will, who would finish on 39 not out, but by the end Hallingbury were well short of the target that had been set.
