Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 60 Runs

Match report It was the hottest day of the year that greeted both teams as we travelled to Stansted Hall. We lost the most important toss of the summer and subsequently fielded first. We got off to a good start with the ball with Samson bowling quickly and accurately. He was supported by Tom Heighes who produced one of the quickest spells seen by a Hallingbury player this season. In the middle overs, Nick Thorne and Sudip were particularly economical, preventing the Stansted Hall middle order from taking the game away from us. We took some good catches and fielded well towards the end of the innings. Samson returned for a second and third spell, picking up 2 hard-earned wickets. Stansted Hall eventually reached 284 from their 45 overs.
With a big total on our hands we knew we had to get off to a good start and we did that through Amit K. The runs started to flow with contributions from Tom(33) on debut and Mituan(22) but nobody could really kick on and make a big score as we fell 60 runs short of Hall’s total. Next week we go again against North Weald.
