Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Won By 83 Runs

Match report It was grey and overcast weather that welcomed both teams to Gaston Green. Thankfully some overnight rain was not sufficient to delay the start. Stand in skipper Stuart won the toss and batted first. We got off to a patient start with the bat with a new opening partnership of Amit and Matt Burnett who put on 66 for the first wicket. Some good batting from Sudip and Ollie kept the run rate ticking along and a quick fire 43 from Joe Apperley got us to a score of 283 from our 45 overs.
With a good score on the board we went out to try and defend it. Some fast bowling once again from Samson earned him yet another Saturday league wicket. But some good batting from J.Ward(40) and Thrift(74) kept North Weald up with the rate. However once they were both out, the run rate climbed and bastmen were forced to hit out. Both Nick and Sudip kept the squeeze on and were both rewarded with wickets. North Weald eventually falling short reaching 200-7 from their 45 overs giving us our first victory in 2 years! We go again next week at Potter Street.
