Match report We welcomed neighbours Hatfield Heath to Gaston Green for our final league game of the season. We fielded first and didn’t get off a good start with the ball and we needed something special to get us going and we got that through Joe Ash taking an absolute stunning catch in the deep. With that we kept on chipping away at the Hatfield middle order with good bowling from Ishfaq and Stuart. Hatfield getting to a score of 269 from 45 overs.
A good start with the bat was needed and we got that through Matt and Tom Phipps who put on 52 for the first wicket. With hard hitting from Ishfaq and Joe Ash we looked like we could be in with a chance. But some good bowling from the Heath attack put us on the back foot. Luckly a calm head from Stuart Dobson with support from Phill Rowley saw us over the line with only 2 overs to go. A great way to end what has been a disappointing season.
