Match report A new season dawned on the LHCC Sunday side with the traditional season opener against Eastons. Under new captain Tom Wharton we won the toss and bowled. Luke Wharton and Will Goold opened the bowling and after a bit of a shaky start got into a good rhythm and bowled tightly. Some good batting at the top of the order from Gilbert(52) and some hard hitting from Booth(59) got them to a completive 216 from their allotted time.

With a big score to chase we knew we had to get off to a good start if we wanted that first victory of the season. Tom and Karim both passed 50 in a partnership of over 100. Some late hitting from Matt Shepard and Luke Wharton kept us up with the rate. As we entered the last 20 overs wickets fell regularly. With 5 overs to go we needed 30 runs to win and not many wickets left it looked like the game was slipping away from us. With 5 needed to win off the last over we held our nerve as Andy Renals and Will Goold got us over the line.
