Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 31 Runs

Match report As another Sunday rolled around we took on Takeley at home. It was a 25-over match with a limit of 6 overs per bowler. We headed out to field first where the Stedmans opened up. Maria had an early breakthrough, bowling one of the openers with a jaffa. As a partnership started to build it needed to be broken and broken it was when Luke W came on and took a wicket. He would go on to take two as did Malc, which saw some solid catches taken from Joe and Nabeel. In the closing overs, Patel decided to adopt a very aggressive approach with the bat - anything he connected with would be dispatched. Sam showed some class death bowling though, picking up two wickets in the last over, which saw the visitors come in with a challenging total of 162.

As Tom and Joe came out they looked set to keep up with the run rate, with the latter making a quickfire 25. However when Joe and Karim were out we started to slow, and despite a good knock from Tom of 58*, we couldn't get up with the rate and ultimately fell short.

We go again next week away against Little Hadham.
