Match report The annual match away to Stocking Pelham saw us bat first in a 35 over game amidst thunderstorms and downpours. The skipper would then be the first wicket to fall early on having made 20 in the first 5 overs. From this point Freddie Dutton would dominate the Hallingbury innings as several batsmen came and went for not much, with Dutton bringing up his maiden 50 within 28 overs and then accelerating. He and Renals would combine to put on a very useful 49 for the 6th wicket, with Andy eventually run out after a good late cameo of 14. Sam would also then come in and hit a boundary himself before Dutton managed to cause 2 lengthy ball searches, with one ending up in the back garden of the house next to the ground. By tea we finished on 157-6, Freddie successfully carrying his bat in a magnificent knock of 93*.

By teatime the surrounding weather began to make its prescence known with the first drops of rain falling, nevertheless we headed out to field. In the first over there was a superb diving effort from Andy Renals at gulley off of Maria's bowling that very nearly brought about a wicket, but after just 2 overs of Hallingbury bowling the heavens opened forcing us off the field, and a short while later the match was declared abandoned. Onwards to Eastons at home next week...
