Match report For our final Sunday game of the season, we travelled to Radwinter. We batted first and got off to a strong start with skipper Tom and Joe putting on a good partnership for the first wicket, helped by a number of dropped catches. When Stewart came to the wicket he and Joe went along nicely scoring at around 6 an over. After a rapid partnership with Matt, Joe was bowled for 99 and missed out on a well-deserved 100. That sparked a collapsed and we were bowled out inside our 40 overs for 212.
We got off to erratic start with the ball with Will struggling for line and length. Things didn’t improve for him and he had to leave the field with a bruised foot stopping a certain boundary. However, Sam bowled with a lot of pace and hostility and deserved more wickets than the scorebook shows. As the Radwinter innings started to gather pace, up stepped our two best bowlers this season, Malcolm and Nick. They both took regular wickets, but it was Malcolm who got the well-deserved 5-for with his strategy of ‘you miss, I hit’. Some good catching ensured we wrapped the match up before the rain came - a good way to end a highly enjoyable Sunday season.
