Match report After two back to back victories we were looking to make it a hatrick of wins at home to Bengeo. We fielded first and with a strong wind blowing across the ground it made it hard to control the ball in what is known as a howling gale. We looked really flat in the opening 10 overs but we woke up suddenly when Dobson picked up the first wicket of the afternoon Wallis pulling the ball straight to Goold at mid wicket. Amit came on and with Sudip at the other end they both bowled nice and tightly to restrict the flow of runs. Simmons and Smith put on a partnership of 130 to frustrate our bowling attack. That was until Sudip picked up the wicket of Simmons with Matt taking a good catch on the boundary. As the innings started to come to an end Bengo started to hit out with Luke Rumble taking a good catch running in from the boundary. Bengeo finishing just short of 300 on 299 from 40 overs.

We didn't get off to the best of starts with the bat losing both Amit and Ollie in the opening over of the innings. But Stewart and Luke Ranns combined to put on a solid partnership of 63 to keep us up with the rate. Then we had a collapse and lost wickets at regular intervals. It wasn't until Sudip and Ishfaq came together to put together a stand of 135 to keep us in the game. Ishfaq going to his 50 in the process. For around 15 overs Ishfaq and Sudip kept us up with the rate, hitting boundaries to all parts of the ground. However with 5 overs to go, Sudip fel and when Stuart holed out to the fielder on the boundary, the game was done and Ish was left not out on 95. A good game played in a fine spirit, but we left ourselves with just too much to do.
