Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 7 Wickets

Match report On a lovely bright sunny day at Gaston Green we played North Weald looking for our first victory on a Sunday. We won the toss and batted first. Luke and Karim got us of to a cautious start with the bat by putting on a partnership of 37 but then we had a collapse and were at one point 92-7 manly thanks to G.Perry(4-37) who bowled very well. However, Nabeel and young Charlie 'The Destroyer' Mugele scored 35* and 41* not out respectively to set a new record 10th wicket partnership for the Club and see us to a defendable total of 177 from our allotted time.

With a score on the board to defend we went out searching for early wickets. Will picked up the opening wicket with a bit of luck as Thrift managed to kick the ball back onto his stumps. A good partnership between Curran and Howorth looks like to be steering the team towards victory but some good fielding from Hallingbury and some good bowling from Pryank (2-25) made the game look tight. Unfortunately we lost in the last over. A good game played in a good spirit.
