Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Sunday Team v Eastons on Sun 30 Jul 2023 at 1.30
Match was Abandoned

Match report For the Sunday return fixture versus Eastons it was hoped the localised stormy conditions around Little Hallingbury would abate over the Sunday . With rain due from around 5 pm, the captains decided at least to get some cricket in with a 20/20 match. LHCC won the toss and the Wharton brothers got us going with some smart runs and big hits, very much required as the outfield was lush for the time of year. Luke fell for 12, which brought Karim to the wicket who soon found his eye and set about gathering boundaries. Tom perished just at 49 . A swift 25 not out from Joe Apperley established another good partnership with Karim who himself finished the inning at 70 not out after 20 overs. A very defendable and impressive total of 177 - 4 was amassed in the allotted 20 overs by LHCC.
Tea was taken ,as drizzle descended. This soon became rain , so the covers were put on . Any hopes the rain was coming early and would disappear as quick were dashed. More Tea was had , and the rain persisted for hours so the match was abandoned .
