Match report Our Saturday game vs Thorley seemed a tough match, as we had our openers and skipper missing, however, we had a fabulous all round team performance with no weaknesses. We fielded first and had them on a tightrope from the off. Sam B-C and Luke W bowled some express pace which was too much for their openers to handle. Aarush and Paritosh then came on and continued this slow scoring trend, with paritosh picking up 2 wickets, one of which on his first ball! Vimal's golden arm and Sudip finished off and we kept them to a very catchable 227/7 off their 40 overs. With a low required run rate, it was the simple task of staying in and batting the overs to win the game as the surface was not giving much to the bowlers. A slow and steady 89 from Joe A, and a fast and furious 50 from Luke W saw us most of the way there, with good scores from opener Oli L, and Vimal S, who saw us to the end and hit the winning runs. A great game to win, and very satisfying to get revenge for the T20 game a few weeks ago. Well done Oli for stepping in to skipper with such confidence and positivity.
