Match report This weeks Sunday game was our fabulous annual battle against Raj and his troops. The weather and splendid game of cricket were only topped by a glorious cricket tea, which we thank Raj and his family very much for. We lost the toss and were put in to bat and we made a strong start with Karim S and Tom B-C scoring 42 and 51* respectively. With the help of 'extras' as the third top scorer, we put on a somewhat disappointing total of 164 on a wicket where you need 200+ to compete. After stuffing our faces with delicious Indian food, our bowling didn't start the way we would've hoped as birthday boy Matt S got slog-swept for 4 off his first delivery. We then continued this trend of bowling below par as many of their batsmen hit multiple boundaries and retired with 50+, and this allowed them to reach our total with relative simplicity, finishing off with a massive 6 from their skipper, Sonny B. We may have been bested on the field, but when Raj brings his family, friends and food everybody is a winner. Thanks to all who came and we look forward to having you back next season.
