Match report A sweltering August afternoon was the setting for the annual Raj XI fixture. Hallingbury bowled first and got off to a tidy start. The introduction of Apperley who was bowling spin in the heat would see him claim 3 wickets as batsmen perished looking for quick runs. There were then wickets for Luke S, Malc, Ash and Maria. This coupled with some great fielding all round and tidy work behind the stumps saw the Raj XI reach a daunting 192-9 by the tea break.

In response, Hallingbury got off to a cautious start, losing both Somanis and Shepherd early on. When Culpin fell for 31, Tom Wharton (59*) and Apperley (22) would combine to put on 52 for the 5th wicket, but the hosts then lost 2 quick wickets to leave the game on a knife edge at 141-6. However, the Wharton brothers would combine to guide Hallingbury home to a fantastic victory, with Tom playing a captain's knock and bringing up his half century in the process.
