Match report LHCC welcomed Hatfield Broad Oak on a rainy afternoon at Gaston Green. With 35 overs a side, we were put in to bat first, seeing Tom have another fine innings with 65 and Joe make a class 55. Despite great knocks from the two, we witnessed a Hallingbury collapse; 126-3 quickly became 136 all out.

The opening bats for the away side came out and built a very good foundation, but a combination of great bowling from Malcolm, who picked up 4 wickets, and some great catches (including a champagne-moment catch from sub-fielder Will Goold) helped to keep the door open. When Luke and Joe came back on they were hostile and built pressure instantly, and when Joe picked up the wicket of Chris T with an absolute peach we had a chance. However, some resilient batting from Strutt (21*) saw the visitors take the win.

We go again next week against Potter Street.
