Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Sunday Team v Stocking Pelham on Sun 22 Aug 2021 at 14.00hrs

Match report
The return leg of the Pelham fixtures saw the visitors batting first in a timed match at Gaston Green. Despite the efforts of the Hallingbury opening bowlers (particularly Maria who bowled well without much luck), the Pelham openers put on nearly 100 for the first wicket before Tom managed to run out Albon. Sam would also shortly after this, take a wicket himself. The other Pelham opener then retired in controversial circumstances, having been caught behind and not walked, he then smashed Featherstone for another 30 before walking off. Sam would then claim another wicket, but that was as good as it got with Pelham reaching a mammoth 262-3 by tea.
The Hallingbury opening pair of Wharton and Apperley got us off to an excellent, quick-scoring start with both finding the fence multiple times. When Tom perished, Karim came in and played a typically entertaining innings which even included a 6 into the car park! However, soon after the top 4 were all out and it was down to Raj and Nabeel to negotiate as many of the final 20 overs as possible. Both played a superb hand, with Raj playing a typically entertaining knock including 3 maximums. Nabeel would reach his highest Hallingbury score during this time, and hit a boundary himself over extra-cover before he too was out, with very few overs remaining in the game. Raj would then bring up a half-century which in the end saw us home for a draw. On to East Ham...
