Match report Following last Sunday victory at Thaxted we were hopeful of backing that up aganst Hyde Hall. On a lovely Sunday day at Hyde Hall we batted first on a wicket that was more like playing in Perth then in Heartfordshire with occasional high bounce and some keeping low. Goold and Shepherd strode out to the wicket looking to get off to a good start. Unfortunately, we lost a early wicket as Shepherd dragged on and that gave Raj and Heighes the opportunity to set about building a platform with Goold. Unfortunately, they both fell cheaply with Tom getting a ball that cut back into him. On a hard wicket to score runs, Samson came in next and started to form a good partnership with the opening batsman who was well set. Goold had to retire on 25. Malc scored an important 23, but we had a bit of a wobble towards the end of the innings but we got to a total of 115 from 30 overs.

After a good tea we headed out trying to defend a small total. Latham and Hobbs both started well getting to 25 and retiring. Some good bowling from Hallingbury in the middle overs especially from Ollie kept us in the game but as the clouds gathered Hyde Hall chased down the runs required. A good game played in a good spirit.
