Match report With last weeks game cancelled we were looking to get another victory on a hot and humid day at Gaston Green. We lost the toss and fielded first and got off to a good start with Dobson bowling nice and tightly and in the process getting some movement of the seam. We didn't have our strongest bowling line up and Ishfaq marshalled the troops superbly in the heat. We fielded really well and took our catches when they came. Sam Apperley on debut picked up 3 wickets and there were good contributions from Ishfaq and Joe Ash. Potter Street ended up on 254 off 40 overs.
With the temperature dropping slightly we went out to bat and got off to a good start with Amit and Stewart who put on 29 for the first wicket before Stewart hit the ball straight to mid off. Luke Ranns came together with Amit to put on 82 for the 2nd wicket. With batting falling around him Amit took the attack to Potter Street and worked his way to a well deserved 100. It was left to Joe Ash and Stanley, who was making his debut, to steer us home to victory. This was our first win over Potter Street in several years. We have now won 4 out of our last 5 matches and move on to Thaxted next week.
