Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 104 Runs

Match report Looking to get our first victory on we played host to Hatfield Broad Oak at Gaston Green. We lost the toss and fielded first. Faceing a very strong batting line up we thought we would be in for a long afternoon in the field but we started well with the ball thanks to Luke Stedman who was hopping the ball around corners. There were absolute scenes as his dad Martin took a catch that was swirling around in the wind and that was enough to dismiss Forde. However, some drop catches proved costly as Broad Oak put on a massive score of 218 from there 30 overs

With a big total to chase down we were hopeful of getting off to a good start with the bat and we didn't get that as we were reduced to 9-3 and where in danger of getting bowled down for under 50. Young Charlie battted well and top scored with 38. He also had support from Nabeel who chipped in with 16. We did well to bat our overs out and we got to a respectful 114-9. A good game played on a beautiful day.
