Match report Saturday vs Essendon: Lost by 123 runs

This week's league game was a fairly 1 sided affair against a newly promoted and strong Essendon side. We fielded first and after 13 overs and a 100+ run partnership from their openers, the golden arm of Vimal dispatched both of their openers in the blink of an eye. overall we fielded well but could only hold them to a tough 238-6 after their full 40 overs. Our batting performance was less than desirable as, on paper, we looked to be in with a shot of catching them on a lovely batting surface. Unfortunately for us, we were playing on grass, and our wickets fell quickly and often so we could only manage 115 after 27 overs. Our high score came from Oli Latham with 35 but we were just not managing to get ourselves in. Even though this was a disappointing result, Sudip's tea was delicious including the coronation chicken sandwiches which were on point!

Our Sunday game this week was cancelled due to low numbers of opposition, but that's a win in my book!

Our first midweek T20 game of the season is tomorrow evening away to Hatfield Heath and we will be looking to bounce back strong.
