Little Hallingbury Cricket Club Lost By 7 Wickets

Match report This Sunday's game against Little Hadham was a glorious day for cricket and a definite day to go out and put on a big total with the bat. We attempted to do so, however, 199 is not all we would have hoped for on a very good surface for batting. Skipper Joe and Karim Somani opened as usual, and put on a solid 85 & 43 respectively which set us up nicely, however, we could not follow this up as their bowlers managed to take the rest of the wickets in a very short space of time. A special mention to Beni A who before the match, asked for a single run for his birthday. He got 6!! Our bowling was not up to scratch and with lengths and lines being missed on a regular basis, it was difficult to take wickets and also easy for their top order to take us apart. They caught us with 8 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand which was the deserved result. Thanks to the Ash parents for a great tea and an unfortunate outcome to the game, but still a good game to be a part of and great to see so many youngsters getting involved!
